Hertsmere Academy of Performing Arts has been a huge part of our family’s life for well over ten years. My daughter began in Chahna’s Pre-Primary classes as a tot, progressing through the RAD grades, before finally obtaining her first pointe shoes – a high point for any budding dancer! Alongside her ballet journey, she also studied and took exams in tap, jazz and contemporary styles.

All with a team who cannot be faulted for their encouragement, dedication and professionalism.

My daughter’s enthusiasm for Chahna’s lessons eventually infected me! Despite a lifetime’s love of dance, I had never taken classes as a child and thought my moment had passed. However, with Chahna’s encouragement I eventually “bit the bullet” and joined an adult ballet class in my forties. If you are looking for a fresh fitness challenge – or simply a way to meet other, like-minded people and have fun – I cannot recommend Hertsmere Academy enough.

It is no surprise that Hertsmere Academy has been at the heart of the Borehamwood community for almost twenty years. Chahna and her team are dedicated professionals which is reflected in the results their students achieve, the quality of their bi-annual shows and the sheer love of dance and performing they encourage in each and every student -   Sarah Strugnell

Hertsmere of Academy of Dance is more than just a dance school, it became a big part of my daughters life. The teachers and the friends she made became part of her family too. She started at the age of 4 and has been with the dance school for 11 years.

The school has a friendly atmosphere and excellent qualified teachers. My daughter participated in all the classes, as she loved them so much. She has always been quiet and shy and I feel the school has helped her grow and develop good life skills. The dance classes and performing in shows has made my daughter a confident and beautiful dancer. She has achieved so much from the school, from performing in many shows and performing at many local community events. She also gained excellent results in her dance exams because of the focus, details and hard work provided from the qualified teachers.

After a few years of my daughter being at the school I started to go and try the adult classes. I did ballet and tap as a child and it gave me the chance to take part in the classes again and to get fit at the same time. I enjoyed the classes and loved the fact that I could take part in the shows with my daughter. I made some really good friends as well as learning new skills.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. I would recommend the academy for children with the desire to pursue a career in dance or those who just want to enjoy dancing. Thank you Chahna for being a positive influence in Rebecca’s life.  - Julie Abbott
