                                              Our History

The school was originally established in 80's as the Lila Vincent School of Dance and Performing Arts, founded and run by Mrs Diane Parks. Fairway Hall in Borehamwood was the main studio. The school changed its name to Hertsmere Performing Arts to become more commercial and in 2008 Miss Chahna became Principal of the school after being a perminant teacher and assistant principal to Diane Parks for 5 years. The school then revamped the name again to Hertsmere Academy of Dance & Performing Arts.

                                                         Our Goals !

We are a school that offers all the diverse disciplines that are needed for students to become all rounded performers.

Hertsmere Academy aim to supply quality training because we have up to date qualified teachers that have studied for many years to become professionals and also gain their qualifications. We are not a school that considers taking on numerous young children & just letting them 'bop around!'

We look at improving students through fun/enjoyment & achieving progress. This is why the timetable will be structured according to age/ability.

We offer classes through out the week & weekends & in the holidays we run workshops when possible, to allow students to have fun learning new & exciting aspects of performing that they might not have done before.

Students are given many opportunities to gain performing experience including, our productions, charity shows & community events.  We regularly have guest teachers and agents from all forms of the profession, teach at the school and visit our school productions. We are also contacted by companies looking for talented students, for their productions for Television/screen work etc..

The majority of students within the school come mainly for enjoyment & exercise, but we try to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

Many past pupils have gained places at professional Theatre schools/colleges and have gone on to have very successful careers in the business. For students wishing to take Performing Arts as a career, ISTD and RAD examinations are essential and are the main recognized Examination Boards.
